Rapper accused of shooting police officer has charges dropped

Charges against a 16-year-old rapper accused of shooting a New York police officer earlier this year have been dropped, according to officials.

The New York City Law Department said in a statement Friday that Camrin Williams, 16, “cannot be prosecuted” but failed to elaborate.

Williams, who goes by the stage name C Blu, was facing charges after he allegedly shot NYPD Officer Kaseem Pennant in the leg in January.

The teenager allegedly accidentally shot Pennant after the two tussled, and Williams attempted to flee. The gun discharged and struck Williams in the groin before exiting his thigh and hitting the officer. 

Cops were responding to a disorderly crowd when Williams approached a white vehicle and put his hands in his pockets, police said, according to the New York Post. Police asked the teenager to show his hands, but he refused, leading to the tussle.

The teenager was already on probation for gun possession when the shooting occurred. The gun possession case was picked up in May 2020, when Williams was just 14.

The teenager posted a $250,000 bond in late January using money from a record label he had signed with Interscope Records a few months earlier.

Volunteer Firefighter Murdered While Trying To Help Stranded Motorist

Palmyra, IN – A Ramsey County volunteer firefighter was murdered Monday night while stopping to help a Palmyra police officer who was out with a stranded motorist, according to investigators.

PPD Reserve Officer Zachary Holly responded to the scene and made contact with the driver, 31-year-old Justin Moore, WLKY reported.

Shortly thereafter, off-duty Harris County Volunteer Firefighter Jacob McClanahan, 24, and one of his coworkers stopped to help assist Officer Holly with traffic control, Harrison County Prosecutor Otto Schalk said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Officer Holly and Moore determined the vehicle was out of gas and eventually decided to call a tow truck, Schalk said.

The officer asked Moore if he had any weapons in his vehicle, and he replied he only had a knife on his person, according to the prosecutor.

Officer Holly then asked Moore to go stash the knife in the vehicle, WLKY reported.

But when Moore reached into his car, he came out with a shotgun and opened fire on the officer, Schalk said.

The round missed Officer Holly, who quickly tried to retreat along with McClanahan, WLKY reported.

Schalk said Moore fired again, hitting and killing the volunteer firefighter.

Officer Holly returned fire and struck Moore, who ultimately died at the scene, WLKY reported.

Calloway County Sheriff’s Deputy Murdered Outside Sheriff’s Office

Benton, KY – Chief Deputy Jody Cash was shot and killed in front of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office at 52 Judicial Drive in Benton at 2:10 pm.

He was escorting a prisoner when the man shot him. The prisoner was also shot and killed during the incident. Chief Deputy Cash was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Chief Deputy Cash had served with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office for 1-1/2 years and had previously served eight years with the Kentucky State Police, six years as the Assistant Chief of the Murray State University Police Department, and six years with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office. Buffalo lunatic, 18, threatened a school graduation shooting last year and was given psychiatric treatment – but still legally bought three guns: Classmates reveal he acted strangely, wore hazmat suit to school for a week and scared them with ‘Hitler-esque’ political views

  •  Payton Gendron, 18, was investigated by the New York State Police for threating to shoot his classmates during graduation in June 2021
  •  Police suggested mental health evaluation and counseling

  • At least 10 people were killed and three were reported injured after a gunman opened fire inside a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday while livestreaming 
  • Gendron had the n-word scrawled on his rifle, targeted a store in a predominantly black area and shot 11 black people, police said 
  • Erie County District Attorney John Flynn charged him with one count of first degree murder 
  • The suspect, filmed wearing a military uniform, has been taken into custody by the Buffalo Police Department and will be charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder as early as Saturday night
  • The suspect was reportedly wearing body armor as witnesses said they saw the man wearing a black helmet and carrying a rifle into the store
  • Ex-Buffalo cop Aaron Salter Jr, who was working at the market as a security guard, tried to stop the gunman but was fatally shot himself
