Police officer shot in the arm in the Bronx: sources

Officials say two officers were patrolling in uniform in an unmarked vehicle on Third Avenue when they saw a man on the sidewalk.

As the officers got out of the vehicle and began to approach the man, the man allegedly began to run and the officers pursued.

Near Bathgate Avenue and Claremont Parkway, Chief Det. James Essig says the suspect turned and fired two shots. The officers returned fire.

One officer was struck in the left arm. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect was struck in the head and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.

Police say a 9mm Glock was found near the suspect. Essig says the gun was stolen out of Virginia in 2021.

Alabama Corrections Officer Vicky White Dies of Self-Inflicted Gunshot

Update: Alabama corrections officer Vicky has died, according to law enforcement.

Vicky White and murder suspect Casey White (no relation) were on the run since she helped him escape a Lauderdale County prison a week and a half ago.

Fugitive Casey White was captured Monday afternoon in Evansville, Indiana after a pursuit ended in a crash.

Vicky White was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken to the hospital after she shot herself in the head.

Hero Down: San Antonio Police Officer David Evans Succumbs To Complications Of 20-Year-Old Gunshot Wounds

San Antonio, TX – San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) Officer David “Pigme” Evans died in the line of duty on Feb. 25 due to complications from gunshot wounds he suffered in 2002.

A gunman shot Officer Evans and three of his fellow officers on Jan. 3, 2002, after they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the area of Perrin Beitel and NE Loop 410 at approximately 3:30 a.m., according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

The suspect, a convicted felon, grabbed the injured officer’s gun and opened fire on Officer Evans, shooting him in the stomach, chest and arm.

The suspect then stole Officer Evans’ duty weapon and proceeded to shoot Officer Evans’ partner in the back.

Officer Evans was able to drag himself outside the building where the attack occurred and warned additional officers responding to the scene that the suspect was inside with a gun, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

The suspect came outside and opened fire on two more officers, hitting both of them in their necks.

One of the wounded officers was able to return fire, killing the gunman, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

All four officers survived the attack.

Officer Evans, 70, succumbed to complications of his gunshot wounds on Feb. 25, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

BREAKING: Gunman ‘Actively Shooting At Police’ In Texas

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KWTX) – A suspect in shooting at Round Rock Police officers was found dead in the woods Saturday afternoon.

Round Rock police received reports of a victim with multiple gunshot wounds 12:30 p.m. May 7 in the 3500 block of Bent Tree Loop.

Police received a report at 12:38 p.m. that a male with black trench coat and an “AK-style rifle” was running across FM 3406, and another report at approximately 12:43 p.m. of a subject wearing camouflage clothing seen near Behrens Ranch.

Officers responded to the area, and the male subject immediately engaged officers and began firing shots at them. Officers responded with gunfire, and the subject retreated into the wood line at Camino del Verdes Place and Salorn Way.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene and the subject began firing shots again, resulting in another gunfire exchange between the subject and officers.

The subject later appeared to be located in the dense wood line where less than lethal rounds were used by officers to solicit a response from the suspect.

After no response, it was determined that the subject was deceased.

he cause of the subject’s death remains under investigation. The subject was found to be wearing body armor.

The gunshot victim in the original call was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and is in stable condition.

No injuries were sustained by officers as a result of gunfire, but one Round Rock officer was transported for medical issues and is in stable condition.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the motive of the shooter is unknown at this time. Full Story
