Three Los Angeles Police Department officers were wounded Wednesday when gunfire erupted during a confrontation with a suspect, who was later pronounced dead, officials said.
Police in Miami said five suspects were taken into custody in connection with a shooting that wounded an officer on Wednesday. Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez told WTVJ-TV that the officer was conducting a narcotics investigation around 4 p.

The FBI is investigating the “suspicious” death of a woman aboard a Carnival cruise ship.
The woman, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive under suspicious circumstances on February 27 on a trip from Charleston, South Carolina to Nassau.
“Both the deceased and her husband were debarked in Nassau and Bahamian authorities have already investigated the circumstances and are conducting an autopsy,” the cruise line said in a statement to CBS News.
Medical staff and crew members attempted life saving measures, according to the FBI’s Columbia field office.
The FBI is investigating the “suspicious” death of a woman aboard a Carnival cruise ship traveling from Charleston, South Carolina, to Nassau, Bahamas, last month.
On Feb. 27, Carnival’s Sunshine crew members and medical staff responded to an unresponsive female passenger, the FBI Columbia field office said in a news release. Despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead on the ship, the release said.
The incident was isolated and posed no threats to other passengers, according to the FBI.
When the ship returned to Charleston on March 4, FBI officials searched the dead passenger’s room for evidence, according to the news release.
The FBI said it investigates suspicious deaths of U.S. citizens as well as “certain crimes on the high seas.” Officials have not disclosed the identity of the passenger or the cause of death and said the incident remains under investigation.

This is absolutely astonishing, as we were just pointed to this late Wednesday afternoon. The National Institute of Health’s own studies shows that Chicken Egg Yolk antibodies actually block the binding of multiple SARS-COV-2 Spike protein variants to human ACE2.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is still spreading worldwide, and there is an urgent need to effectively prevent and control this pandemic. This study evaluated the potential efficacy of Egg Yolk Antibodies (IgY) as a neutralizing agent against the SARS-CoV-2. We investigated the neutralizing effect of anti-spike-S1 IgYs on the SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, as well as its inhibitory effect on the binding of the coronavirus spike protein mutants to human ACE2. Our results show that the anti-Spike-S1 IgYs showed significant neutralizing potency against SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, various spike protein mutants, and even SARS-CoV in vitro. It might be a feasible tool for the prevention and control of ongoing COVID-19.

Central Florida police: drive-by shooting wounds 10-Ten people were injured Monday afternoon during a drive-by shooting in a central Florida neighborhood, police said. Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said investigators believe the shooting was a targeted attack. (Jan. 31)
The shooting occurred in the area of Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street Monday afternoon around 3:43 p.m. Police initially said nine people were hurt, but they later learned that an additional person had injuries. Two people had critical injuries, and eight people had non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the two victims with critical injuries are getting surgery. “One is in surgery and the other is either in surgery or headed to surgery,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said. The police chief said some of the victims are being more cooperative than others who were hurt. “Some are cooperating, some are not cooperating. Some that had non-life-threatening injuries have decided that they don’t have any idea why this happened. And some are telling us everything that they know about it,” Taylor said. Four suspects in a four-door dark blue Nissan are believed to be involved in the shooting.
