(Reuters) -A gunman opened fire on two television journalists reporting on a murder near Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday, killing one and wounding the other before fatally shooting a 9-year-old girl and wounding her mother in a nearby home, authorities said.

A suspect identified as Keith Melvin Moses, 19, was arrested shortly after the assaults on the TV news team and the mother and daughter, about a block away from each other, in the Orlando suburb of Pine Hills, said Orange County Sheriff John Mina

Moses was detained as a suspect in both those attacks and was formally charged in the killing hours earlier of a woman in her 20s, a shooting that the two journalists were covering when they came under fire, Mina said.

The sheriff described the two journalists as a reporter and a photographer for central Florida cable TV outlet Spectrum News 13, which is owned by Charter Communications.

None of victims was identified.

Mina said the suspect was armed with a pistol when taken into custody and has a lengthy criminal record that included arrests on charges of firearms offenses aggravated battery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and grand theft.

Mina said no motive had been determined for any of Wednesday’s shootings, but he said Moses was believed to have been an acquaintance of the first victim, who was shot while sitting in a car with the suspected gunman and another person.

Police officer shot overnight in exchange of gunfire with suspect in Duquesne

A Duquesne police officer who was shot overnight is in stable condition.

The officer was responding to the area of Catherine and Savey streets around 12:18 a.m. for a report of shots fired and was immediately met by gunfire, according to a report from Allegheny County police.

The officer returned fire, striking the suspect in the leg.

The officer was shot in the foot, according to the report.

Other officers responding took the suspect into custody. The suspect and officer were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.

Homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

Channel 11′s Alyssa Raymond is on the scene gathering details, and will have more through 7 a.m. on Channel 11 Morning News.

Victoria White from Rochester, Minnesota attended the Stop the Steal rally in Washington DC on January 6th. She was nearly killed by DC police officers during the rally. Victoria was later arrested and charged with assault on the US Capitol.

Victoria White was brutally beaten near death by the US Capitol Police.
According to attorney Joseph McBride:

She is hit approximately thirty- five times over the course of 4 minutes and 30 seconds, while appearing to be begging for mercy the entire time. She is hit with the baton while facing away. She is hit with the baton while facing forward. She is speared and poked with the baton about the face so as to inflict maximum pain. She collapses more than once and is stood up by the officers only to be maced and beaten again. At some point, White-shirt puts away his baton, not because he is showing mercy because he has a clear avenue to her face. As such, he unloads on the defenseless woman punching her five times in five seconds, directly in the face, with all of his might.

Not once in the DOJ report do they describe the brutal pummeling she received at the hands of the Capitol Police officers.

The fact that they ignored police brutality in their report is absolutely frightening.

A deadly police shooting closed a major Miami-Dade street during morning rush hour

Police trying to get into a home in Northwest Miami-Dade early Thursday morning shot and killed a 22-year-old man after a five-hour standoff, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the man fired his gun at a Miami-Dade Police officer before he was killed. A police spokesman said he threatened police before he was shot.

“He pointed a gun. I don’t know if he was able to get a round off,” said Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta.

Police had not named the dead man or the officer who killed him by late Thursday morning and said there was no one else in the home at the time of the shooting. The incident forced the closure of several streets in the neighborhood near Northwest 103rd Street and caused morning rush-hour traffic delays. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is handling the shooting investigation.

El Paso mall shooting: Off-duty police officer took down suspect within minutes, chief said

Authorities said the suspect who fatally shot one person and wounded three others at a shopping mall in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, was taken down within minutes by an off-duty police officer.

During a press conference Wednesday evening, El Paso Police Chief Peter Pacillas said an off-duty officer, who was not identified, was already at the Cielo Vista Mall when the shooting started.

Pacillas said police received calls of a suspect firing off several rounds, striking at least four people, at approximately 5:05 pm and the officer took a suspect into custody by 5:08 p.m.

The officer also took the suspect down without firing a shot, the police chief said.

When asked if the shooting was gang-related or facilitated between “two groups of people,” Pacillas said the answer is not yet known.

The Cielo Vista Mall remains an “active crime scene” and will continue to be locked down and secured until investigators are done processing, he said.
