Update: Indianapolis Metropolitan Police identified the officers involved as 21-year veteran Officer Zachary Taylor and 15-year veteran Officer Scott Hartman.Indianapolis Metropolitan Police in a tweet Tuesday said Ringo the police dog was released from the emergency vet and is now recovering. More information has been released about the suspect in the alleged break-in.

A man has been arrested for his alleged role in stabbing an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department dog three times during a suspected break-in Friday at a south side auto repair shop. IMPD officers shot the man — the third time officers have shot someone in the past month.

The man remains in the hospital as of Tuesday and was listed to be in stable condition.

Two suspects died and two police officers were injured after separate confrontations in Missouri.

In the eastern Missouri town of Troy on Thursday night, a man shot a Lincoln County deputy during a domestic disturbance investigation. The suspect was later found dead inside a shed.

In the Kansas City suburb of Gladstone, an officer shot a suspect around 3:30 a.m. Friday after the man’s vehicle allegedly dragged the officer. The suspect died at a hospital. The officer’s injuries were described as minor.

The shooting in Troy happened around 6:45 p.m., as deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call. Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Dallas Thompson said the suspect, Thomas Varvera Jr., 55, was outside the home when deputies arrived and shot one of the officers in the chest.

The deputy, whose name was not released, was wearing a protective vest. The deputy was hospitalized in stable condition.

Fargo police release body camera video of ambush shooting

Dramatic video footage shows shooting ambush in Fargo that killed an officer last month

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has released body camera footage from the deadly ambush shooting on Fargo Police Officers on July 14.

The body camera footage has been redacted and blurred by the North Dakota BCI, however, the audio has not been edited. The video released on August 17 is from Officer Zach Robinson’s body-worn camera. Officials have not released footage from Officers Jake Wallin, Andrew Dotas or Tyler Hawes.

Attorney General Drew Wrigley says Officers Wallin, Dotas and Hawes were about 15 feet from Mohamed Barakat’s vehicle when he opened fire on them. Dotas and Hawes were shot immediately and Wrigley says there is no way they could have predicted the ambush-style shooting. Wrigley says Dotas struggled to his feet at one point, but fell back to the ground.

Officer Wallin ran toward Barakat’s vehicle, was able to unholster his weapon and fire one shot before he was hit by Barakat. Officials say Wallin was shot once by Barakat.

Bystander Karlee Koswick, who was involved in the initial crash on 25th Street South, was shot after the three officers were already down. She tried to run for cover when she was hit by Barakat. Officials say when Barakat’s attention turned toward her, Robinson had the opportunity to shoot Barakat.

Officer Robinson’s service weapon holds 17 rounds and at one point he had to reload. Wrigley says Robinson fired 31 rounds at Barakat and hit him 21 times. Even after Barakat is shot and on the ground, he continues to move around and fumble with his firearms. Officials say Barakat ignores repeated commands from Robinson to put the gun down and put his hands up.

“Complete awe in his composure and training,” Wrigley says of Officer Robinson’s actions. “The way he conducts himself is remarkable.” Wrigley goes on to say that it was a mature, professional response to the circumstances.

Deputy Joe Anderson says Robinson has undergone a mandatory psychological evaluation and came back to work in the office for a period of time. Robinson decided he was ready to go back in the field and is currently back on the streets with another officer.

Police Chief Dave Zibolski said of Robinson, “His mental state is good, he knew he did what he had to do.” Zibolski calls the officer’s actions courageous and heroic.

Dallas police officer dies by apparent suicide day after fatal shooting of murder suspect

Officer Matthew Bacon was assigned to the U.S. North Texas Fugitive Task Force.

A Dallas police officer died by apparent suicide a day after he and three other officers fatally shot a homicide suspect as they tried to arrest him this week, according to a department email obtained by The Dallas Morning News.

Dallas police released 17 seconds of surveillance footage Wednesday that did not show any of the officers or include the sounds of gunfire. The officers were part of a task force and were not wearing body cameras during Monday’s operation, police officials said.

The officer who died, Matthew Bacon, was assigned to the U.S. North Texas Fugitive Task Force, which is made up of U.S. Marshals and officers from Dallas and Mesquite. According to internal memos sent by the chief to all officers andobtained by The News, police officials learned ofhis death around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Bacon was one of four officers on the task force who opened fire around 10:15 a.m. Monday while trying to apprehend Corey Wayne Thomas in the 3700 block of South Tyler Street, near Marvin D. Love Freeway, police said. The officers fatally shot Thomas, who was suspected in the July 24 killing of 45-year-old Jason Salazar inside a vehicle in the 1500 block of Mentor Avenue, Dallas police said.

Twitch streamer Kai Cenat was issued a desk appearance ticket Friday night and walked free from a Manhattan precinct after “encouraging” a mob of young fans to descend upon Union Square Park, where all hell broke loose.

The influencer, who has more than 20 million followers, was expected to face two counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly in connection to the Friday afternoon mayhem, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said at a press conference.

It wasn’t immediately clear if those charges were ultimately filed.

The 21-year-old live-streamed left the 19th Precinct on the Upper East Side early Saturday and was hustled into a waiting black SUV without commenting to the media.

Sources said he only received a desk appearance ticket.

Cenat hadn’t obtained a permit for his gaming accessory giveaway in the park Friday afternoon and the event quickly morphed into violent chaos as thousands of young fans stormed the surrounding streets.
