PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – New body-cam video shows the moment Phoenix police officers shot and killed a man who reportedly tried to break into an apartment earlier this month

On April 1, just before 7 p.m., Phoenix police were called about a fight at an apartment complex near 14th Street and Bell Road. Officers arrived and spoke with 76-year-old Dwight Cornwell, who said he was trying to get his belongings inside the apartment. Officers discovered the apartment did not belong to Cornwell and gave him other options before leaving the area.

About an hour later, officers received a call from a woman at the same complex saying she was hiding in the closet after Cornwell, who had a gun, broke the window of her apartment. “I need a police officer here immediately,” she says. “Hurry up because this guy has a gun.” The woman says she knows Cornwell. “He suffers from bipolar schizophrenia. He carries a gun with him and he shouldn’t, he’s mentally unstable. Please hurry,” she said.

Armed Man Shot by Officers on Bronx Subway Tracks, Police Say; 3rd NYPD Shooting of Day

For the third time in less than 12 hours, NYPD officers opened fire on a man, this time a suspect who was said to be waving a gun near a crowd of people at a Bronx train station, according police.

Watch as NYPD executives provide an update on an active police investigation in the Bronx.

Officers were called to the scene at the elevated subway station at West 238th Street and Broadway in the Kingsbridge neighborhood just before 8 p.m. Thursday, the NYPD said at a press conference. When police arrived, witnesses at the station pointed to the man who was said to be showing a gun.

Officers went up to the man and told him to drop the weapon, which he did not do, police said. Instead, he started walking south on a catwalk running adjacent to the subway tracks, toward the next station at 231st Street.

Some officers followed the man on the walkway, continuing to tell him to drop the gun — which he allegedly still refused to do, sometimes pointing the weapon at officers. Another group of officers started approaching him from the other direction as he got closer to the next train station, according to police.

As he pointed the weapon one more time, an officer fired one shot, the NYPD said. The man was struck in the left hand, forcing him to drop the gun.

Officers on the catwalk secured the weapon and rendered aid to the man, who has not yet been identified, but police said they were familiar with him. He was taken to the hospital where he is expected to survive.

Police said that the weapon (pictured below) was not a real gun, but an imitation or air pistol that looks very similar to a real firearm.

Ocala, FL – Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said society needs to stop making excuses for juveniles who harm others and violate the law and argued that enacting more gun control will not stop violent crime (video below).

Sheriff Woods had strong words for the media and school district officials on April 7 as he discussed a recent Marion County case in which three juveniles allegedly shot three other teens to death and dumped their bodies in separate areas within a five-mile radius of one another late last month.

He said the three suspects were in a burglary gang with the three teenage victims who were found dead, according to the New York Post.

Colorado Springs, Colorado -The Gateway Pundit reported last week that Colorado Springs police stopped a male-to-female “transgender” person from blowing up a middle school on March 31.

The suspect, 19-year-old William Whitworth, who identifies as “Lilly” and uses she/her pronouns, had laid out extensive plans to plant bombs at and shoot students at Timberview Middle School in Colorado Springs that same day. This came just a week after another trans brutally murdered six people, including three children at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Whitworth mapped out a floor plan of Timberview Middle School and had expressed violent intent towards his sister earlier in the day. This caused her to call the police, who arrived to the residence a short time later.

Police found Whitworth lying in bed, drunk, in a room piled with trash that had several holes in the wall. Whitworth was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and other charges after admitting to wanting to shoot up a school.

During a search of Whitworth’s home, deputies found a manifesto that outlined support for political figures and idolized other mass shooters, though specific details were not released to the public at the time.

KRDO reports that the manifesto written by Whitworth has now been released. It shows he planned to target two additional schools in addition to Timberview and contains significant details on how to carry out the Timberview shooting.

Per KRDO, a brief of the manifestos contents detailed:

A list of firearms and how to 3D print them

Detailed lists of numerous named individuals to be killed and their indented casualty versus injury rate.

Information detailing the creation of improvised explosive devices

The finalization of locations being Timberview Middle School, Prairie Hills Elementary, and Pine Creek High School

UPDATE: Two police officers and suspect killed after gunfire exchanged during traffic stop in Barron County

BARRON COUNTY UPDATE (WQOW) – Two officers were killed Saturday in Barron County during a traffic stop.

According to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, a Chetek police officer pulled a car over around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Gunfire was exchanged during the stop. Two police officers were pronounced dead at the scene: one from the Chetek Police Department and one from the Cameron Police Department.

The person pulled over was taken to the hospital where they later died.

An officer from the Chetek Police Department conducted a traffic stop around 3:38 p.m. and at some point gunfire was exchanged with the motorist, the state justice department said.

Two Wisconsin police officers were killed in a shooting during a traffic stop on Saturday, authorities said.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice said in a statement late Saturday that it was investigating the shooting in Cameron, Wisconsin.

An officer from the Chetek Police Department conducted a traffic stop around 3:38 p.m. and at some point gunfire was exchanged with the motorist, the state justice department said.

The Chetek officer and another officer from Cameron were pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect in the shooting was taken to a hospital and later died, the justice department said.

The names of the officers and the suspect were not immediately released.

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss today of two officers. I am thinking of their families and the Chetek and Cameron Police Departments at this incredibly difficult time,” Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said in a tweet late Saturday.

The Division of Criminal Investigation within the Wisconsin Department of Justice is leading the investigation and will submit a report to the Barron County district attorney when the investigation concludes, the statement said.
