Central Florida police: drive-by shooting wounds 10-Ten people were injured Monday afternoon during a drive-by shooting in a central Florida neighborhood, police said. Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said investigators believe the shooting was a targeted attack. (Jan. 31)

The shooting occurred in the area of Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street Monday afternoon around 3:43 p.m.
Police initially said nine people were hurt, but they later learned that an additional person had injuries.
Two people had critical injuries, and eight people had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the two victims with critical injuries are getting surgery.
“One is in surgery and the other is either in surgery or headed to surgery,” Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor said.
The police chief said some of the victims are being more cooperative than others who were hurt.
“Some are cooperating, some are not cooperating. Some that had non-life-threatening injuries have decided that they don’t have any idea why this happened. And some are telling us everything that they know about it,” Taylor said.
Four suspects in a four-door dark blue Nissan are believed to be involved in the shooting.

Oregon Man Wanted for Attempted Murder and Kidnapping May Be Using Dating Apps to Find More Victims, Police Warn

An Oregon man wanted by police for allegedly kidnapping a woman and beating her unconscious may be using dating apps to find more victims, according to the Grants Pass Police Department.

According to the department, Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36, is considered an “extremely dangerous suspect wanted for Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, and Assault.” He remains on the run but has been active on dating sites and apps.

In a statement about the suspect posted to Facebook, the department said that “on Tuesday at 6:52 PM, Grants Pass Police Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Shane Way regarding an assault. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim who had been bound and severely beaten into unconsciousness. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.”

“The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived but was positively identified as Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36 years old, of Wolf Creek,” the statement continued. “Foster was last known to be driving a dark blue 2008 Nissan Sentra 4-door with Oregon license 407EDX. Foster is known to be armed and should be considered extremely dangerous. Foster is wanted by the police for Kidnapping, Attempted Murder, and Assault. Anyone seeing Foster or knowing his whereabouts should immediately call 9-1-1 and reference Grants Pass case #23-3570.”

Just an hour-and-a-half after Seth Perrault said his 44-year-old wife, Amanda, shot herself right in front of him, he was struggling to tell his story.

SETH PERRAULT (to Sheriff Howard Sills): I’m in shock. My wife of eight years, that I love more than anything in this world…

Perrault, 44, then a police officer for the City of Eatonton, Georgia, told Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills that his wife Amanda had shot herself in the head.
