CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio —
Several agencies are on scene investigating an officer-involved shooting along OH-48 in Warren County Tuesday evening.
According to early reports, Clearcreek Township officers were responding to a domestic call at local residence where the suspect was ramming his wife’s car with an ATV.
According to police, the suspect shot a responding officer and another officer returned fire, striking and killing the man.
It is unclear what initially led up to the shooting.
The officer was shot in the head and transported to Miami Valley Hospital near Dayton.
He is in critical but stable condition, police said.
“The suspect shot one of my officers, he’s in stable but critical condition in the ICU,” Clearcreek Township Police Chief John Terrill said. “The individual that shot my officer was shot by one of our other officers and killed. So BCI is here processing our scene, we’ll be doing that through the night. The officer was careflighted to the hospital.”
