TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) โ A man suspected of fatally shooting two people inside a Toledo home was later shot and killed by police after he was found in a car holding a gun to his head, authorities said.
Police responded to the home around 11:20 p.m. Thursday after a caller said someone may have been shot at the residence. The officers found two people who had each been shot at least once. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was found sitting in a car elsewhere in the city, holding a gun to his head, authorities said. They said the man refused directives to drop the weapon and that he exited the vehicle with the gun in his hand. Officers shot and killed him. Authorities have not said if the man fired any shots.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later. His name and the names of the other two shooting victims have not been released, and authorities have not said if the three knew each other nor disclosed a possible motive for the shootings.
Authorities said “several” officers fired shots, and all of them have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure when an officer fires their weapon. Their names have not been released.

Police in Boulder, Colorado, will consult with a state cold case team as they continue to investigate the 1996 murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey.
Authorities have received more than 21,000 tips, letters and emails about the case and have traveled to 19 states to speak with more than 1,000 people, but the murder remains unsolved.
“This crime has left a hole in the hearts of many, and we will never stop investigating until we find JonBenetโs killer,” Police Chief Maris Herold said in a news release Wednesday ahead of the 26th anniversary of JonBenet’s death.
The Colorado Cold Case Review Team is made up of professional investigative, analytical and forensic experts from across the state. Police said the team “is another tool to help further cold case homicide investigations.”
JonBenet was found beaten and strangled to death on Dec. 26, 1996, in the basement of her family’s Boulder home. At the time, the only other people known to be in the home were her parents, Patsy and John, and her brother, Burke.

Willoughby, OH โ Dashcam footage captured the moment when four Good Samaritans jumped in to help a police officer who was being assaulted by a violent suspect (video below).
The incident occurred after Willoughby Police Department (WPD) Officer Stacee Wright stopped a speeding motorist on Lost Nation Road shortly before 4:25 p.m. on Sept. 10, WKYC reported.
Dashcam footage showed the driver of the suspect vehicle, 64-year-old David Koubeck, exiting his car to get his license out of the backseat area shortly after Officer Wright made contact with him through his front passenger-side window.
โPut your hands on the vehicle now!โ she yelled, just before she pushed the suspect towards his car and attempted to take him into custody.
Koubeck resisted her effort and ended up pinning Officer Wright against the passenger side of his vehicle during the ensuing struggle, the video showed.
Multiple witnesses driving by the scene abruptly stopped their vehicles and ran to help the struggling officer.
