Willoughby, OH – Dashcam footage captured the moment when four Good Samaritans jumped in to help a police officer who was being assaulted by a violent suspect (video below).
The incident occurred after Willoughby Police Department (WPD) Officer Stacee Wright stopped a speeding motorist on Lost Nation Road shortly before 4:25 p.m. on Sept. 10, WKYC reported.
Dashcam footage showed the driver of the suspect vehicle, 64-year-old David Koubeck, exiting his car to get his license out of the backseat area shortly after Officer Wright made contact with him through his front passenger-side window.
“Put your hands on the vehicle now!” she yelled, just before she pushed the suspect towards his car and attempted to take him into custody.
Koubeck resisted her effort and ended up pinning Officer Wright against the passenger side of his vehicle during the ensuing struggle, the video showed.
Multiple witnesses driving by the scene abruptly stopped their vehicles and ran to help the struggling officer.
