Birmingham, AL – One of two Birmingham firefighters who were shot inside a fire station while at work last week has succumbed to his wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) Battalion Chief Tobias Jones confirmed that BFRS Firefighter Jordan Melton passed away on Monday evening as a result of the July 12 attack at Fire Station No. 9, WBRC reported.
BFRS Firefighter Jamal Jones, who was also shot in during the incident, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
