BREAKING: Texas Deputy Down

San Antonio, TX – A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy was shot on Tuesday afternoon as deputies attempted to serve a felony search warrant on the far West Side of the city.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 5 as Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving the warrant in the 200-block of Demya Drive, just west of Loop 410, KSAT reported.

The sheriff’s department said that wounded deputy was immediately transported to University Hospital for treatment.

Officials have not released the name of the wounded hero, nor have they provided any information about the deputy’s medical condition, WSAT reported.

The suspect is not in custody and law enforcement officers have descended on the area to search for the gunman.

The sheriff’s department asked residents of the area to stay in their homes and call 911 if they see anything suspicious, WSAT reported.
