Two police officers were shot near the conclusion of a Fourth of July fireworks show in Philadelphia.
One officer assigned to highway patrol received a graze wound to the forehead, police said. The round stopped in the hat of the 36-year-old, who has 14 years of service.
The other officer, who was assigned to the Montgomery County Bomb Squad, sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder. The 44-year old, who has 16 years of service, was present to work security at the event, as was the other injured officer.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Kentucky man who shot three police officers and injured three others last week appears to have planned the attack, officials said Sunday.
During a news conference Sunday, Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt said an emergency protective order was served to the suspect — 49-year-old Lance Storz — after deputies interviewed his wife.
On Thursday, deputies planned to arrest Storz for assault for alleged abuse of his wife. According to LEX 18, deputies who arrived at his home on Main Street in the small town of Allen, Kentucky, saw Storz pulling back the blinds at the window. Hunt said Storz then opened the door “like he was waiting on them” and opened fire.
Hunt said Storz had “high-caliber weapons” and wore a body armor vest.
Storz was on an elevated spot in his house that overlooked a clear field of fire for 200 yards. He killed Floyd County Sherriff’s Deputy William Petry, Prestonsburg Police Capt. Ralph Frasure, Prestonsburg Police Officer Jacob Chaffins and a police K-9, Drago. Five others injured in the shooting are still recovering.
They will protest and loot and commit violence for a thug (who did have a shotgun in car) but not one F about any of the thousands being killed in Democrat run cities.

ALLEN, Ky. — Three law enforcement officers were killed and five wounded in eastern Kentucky when a man with a rifle opened fire on police attempting to serve a warrant, authorities said.
Police took 49-year-old Lance Storz into custody late Thursday night after an hourslong standoff at a home in Allen, a small town in the hills of Appalachia.
An emergency management official was also injured and a police dog was killed, according to the arrest citation.
The responding officers encountered “pure hell” when they arrived on the scene, Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt told reporters Friday afternoon.
“They had no chance,” he said.
Hunt said four deputies initially responded, then called for backup when they were shot at. The sheriff said Storz surrendered after negotiations that included his family members. Hunt had told local media the deputies were serving a court-issued warrant Thursday evening related to a domestic violence situation.
Hunt said one of his deputies, William Petry, and Prestonsburg Police Capt. Ralph Frasure were killed in the shooting. Frasure worked for 39 years in law enforcement in Floyd County. Another Prestonsburg officer, Jacob Chaffins, died after being hospitalized, the police department said in a social media post Friday night.
Storz was arraigned Friday morning by a judge in Pike County. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder of a police officer and was jailed on a $10 million bond. One of the charges was originally attempted murder of a police officer, but a judge said at the hearing that was upgraded to murder. He is also facing another attempted murder charge and assault on a service animal.
Few details were available Friday. State police had said in a brief statement that they were investigating an officer-involved shooting.
FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Law enforcement officers remained on the scene Friday morning of a deadly shooting situation in Allen that involves multiple victims from different agencies, Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt said.
He said several officers have been taken to different hospitals. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department posted on social media early Friday morning that the incident was deadly. There is no word on the number of those involved who died.
Sheriff Hunt said deputies were attempting to serve a court-issued warrant when the incident started Thursday evening. As of 9:30 p.m., he said the suspect was still barricaded. At a news briefing during our 11 p.m. newscast, Kentucky State Police reported the suspect is in custody.
The sheriff said the suspect opened fire when officers responded. KSP said the incident started around 6 p.m.
That area of Allen, located near the junction of U.S. 23 and state Route 1428, is closed off for miles around. Earlier Thursday night, the sheriff said he was hoping for a peaceful resolution to the situation.
Officers from throughout the region, some from as far away as Ashland, responded to the scene.

According to Bibb County District Attorney Michael Jackson, the deputies were chasing the driver of a stolen car after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Brierfield community when the suspect opened fire, shooting both deputies.

The deputies have been taken to UAB Hospital. Jackson did not know the full extent of the deputies’ injuries, only adding that one of the deputies was hit “in a critical area.”
A manhunt is underway now for the suspect, who has been identified as 26-year-old Austin Patrick Hall. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
