Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) railed against Republicans as he “commemorated” the January 6 “insurrection” at a vigil hosted by Antifa radicals on Thursday night, claiming the GOP stands with “the most authoritarian, fascistic elements of the whole country.”
Most Americans are now Democrats because the Republican Party supports the most “authoritarian” elements of America, the Maryland congressman lamented in an angry tirade.
“I greet the American majority on this evening on Jan. 6, 2022. Never forget that Hillary Clinton beat [Trump] by 3 million votes and Joe Biden beat him by 7 and a half million votes. The new Americans are on our side,” he told the crowd. “[Republicans] are a shrinking minority party standing with the most authoritarian, fascistic elements of the whole country.”
Raskin praised the two Republicans who serve on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 House Select Committee for helping Democrats “defeat fascism.”
Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are “constitutional patriots” who are “standing up for democracy,” he said. “You go back and you look at the history of coups and fascism on earth, progressives and liberals can never defeat fascism on their own, it is always progressives and liberals at the center-right that come together to defend democracy and we are going to do it again. We are the majority. I admit they have a lot of control over levers of anti-democratic power in America.”
The Maryland Democrat lauded police for fighting “hordes of fascist mobs” on January 6 and claimed conservatives only back the blue when law enforcement officials assault black people.
“Where are all those phony defenders of law enforcement who only rear their ugly heads when some racist cop beats up an African American citizen? We don’t hear from them about January 6, do we? We stand with the cops like we stand with the firefighters, like we stand with the teachers, like we stand with all public employees, the servants of the people,” he said.
The two Florida deputies who committed suicide within days of each other, leaving their 1-month-old son an orphan, had both been honored for saving people’s lives, according to reports.
St. Lucie County Deputy Clayton Osteen died Jan. 2 and Deputy Victoria Pacheco took her life “in the wake of Deputy Osteen’s death,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said in a statement this week.
Osteen, 24, who served in the US Marines, was awarded Deputy of the Year in 2020, a year after joining the department, WPTV reported, citing his personnel records.
“Clayton and Victoria were joy-filled, first-time parents excited about their growing family, enamored with their baby Jayce, and so in love with each other,” a statement says on a GoFundMe page for the child.
“Tragically, for reasons completely unknown and totally out of character, Clayton took his own life December 31st, 2021. Reeling from the shock of loss, Victoria took her own life two days later,” it continues.
Seattle, like most other Democrat-run cities across the US, has experienced a massive spike in crime thanks to radical, felon-first policies that have emboldened criminals like never before.
One of the most ridiculous of said policies, which drastically limits the situations in which officers can engage in vehicular pursuits, was implemented in the Emerald City last year.
It’s not exclusive to Seattle either. Because of these policies, criminal pursuits are essentially banned all across the state.
Naturally, the greatest (and likely only) benefactors of this, are the criminals.
On Wednesday, employees of KIRO Newsradio captured a shocking example of this new policy in action when they recorded a driver of a stolen vehicle casually driving away from several police officers who had surrounded the car with their weapons drawn.
The incident happened directly outside their studio in downtown Seattle.
