Pima County, AZ – A Pima County sheriff’s deputy was repeatedly stabbed in the spine while responding to a call from a male who threatened to kill law enforcement officers.

Investigators said that when PCSD Deputy Eduardo Toral responded to the 3900-block of South Rocky Peak Court to Investigate the call, Ibrahim began pelting his patrol vehicle with rocks, KGUN reported.

Deputy Toral, a one-year veteran of the PCSD, remained in his vehicle and repeatedly ordered Ibrahim to show his hands, but the violent suspect refused, according to investigators.

The suspect then approached the deputy’s open driver’s side door and repeatedly stabbed him with a pair of scissors, plunging them into his spinal cord, shoulder, and face, The Arizona Republic reported.

Florida Deputy Stabbed In Carotid Artery While Trying To Help Crash Victim

St. Lucie County, FL – A woman involved in a rollover crash plunged a knife into a St. Lucie County sheriff’s deputy’s neck after he stopped to help her on Wednesday night, according to police.

Despite the gushing wound to his carotid artery, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) Deputy Cody Colangelo, 22, still chased after his attacker on foot, SLCSO Chief Deputy Brian Hester told reporters during a press conference on Thursday, according to WFLX.

Surgeons removed the damaged portion of his carotid artery and replaced it using a section of artery taken from his leg, WFLX reported.

Deputy Colangelo was listed in stable condition on Thursday morning and is expected to make a full recovery.

Hero Down: Arizona DPS Sergeant Leo Becenti Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle

Kingman, AZ – Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Sergeant Leo Becenti died on March 9 after he was hit by a vehicle, according to police.

The 54-year-old sergeant was off-duty when he responded to a disturbance in the 1900-block of Dawes Avenue at approximately 10 p.m., KSAZ reported.

When he arrived at the scene, Sgt. Becenti got into a physical altercation with a man and ended up falling into the street, according to Kingman police.

He was then struck by an oncoming vehicle driven by a 54-year-old woman, The Miner reported.

Police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid prior to transporting Sgt. Becenti to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Anchorage Police Officer Shot Multiple Times During Standoff With Barricaded Gunman

Anchorage, AK – An Anchorage police officer was shot multiple times while trying to apprehend a barricaded suspect early Friday morning, according to police.

Officers repeatedly tried to make contact to no avail, so they obtained a search warrant for Spring’s residence.

Police repeatedly announced themselves after obtaining the warrant, but he refused to respond, according to the APD.

They ultimately broke down the apartment door with a battering ram shortly before 4:22 a.m., the Anchorage Daily News reported.

Spring opened fire on them as soon as they entered the apartment

The officer carrying the tactical shield was shot repeatedly in his lower body, the APD said.

He is expected to survive, but remains in serious condition.

Heroes Down: Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Martin Mack And Trooper Branden Sisca Killed By Motorist

Philadelphia, PA – Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Trooper Martin Mack and Trooper Branden Sisca died in the line of duty Monday morning when they were hit by a speeding motorist while trying to get a pedestrian off of the interstate.

The incident began on Interstate 95 southbound at approximately 12:30 a.m. on March 21, when the Trooper Mack, 33, and Trooper Sisca, 29, stopped a female driver on suspicion of DUI, WCAU reported.

During the traffic stop, the troopers were notified that a man was walking on the roadway and they were forced to leave the stop in order to locate the pedestrian, law enforcement sources said.

The troopers located the pedestrian and were trying to get him into their patrol vehicle when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed slammed into all three of them, according to police.

The force of the impact threw the troopers and the pedestrian into the northbound lanes of the interstate.

Witnesses rushed to the injured troopers and attempted CPR, but all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) Traffic Division Officer Mike Staten told reporters.
